Biography
Attorney, Curtis Cooper
A native of Baltimore, Curtis Cooper graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Virginia School of Law. Curtis spent his junior year in college in Almaty, Kazakstan, where he enjoyed hiking in the Tien Shan mountains near Tibet. He is fluent in Russian, and his wife of nine years is a naturalized United States citizen from the Almaty area. Active in social and environmental causes since his middle school years, Curtis tries in his law practice to apply the hiker's ethic of leaving a campsite better than you found it.
Prior to opening his own office, Curtis represented Social Security disability and workers compensation claimants, accident victims, and labor unions, both in Maryland and in West Virginia. Curtis has served on the executive committee of the National Lawyers Guild, and he is on the board of directors of Cromwell Valley Community Supported Agriculture.
